Spring Cleaning, 2019
Hello once again, fellow wiki users!
I hope that those of you in colder climbs are finding Spring a welcome change.
In the spirit of the season, I've initiated Spring Cleaning of 2019. Going forward, I will be working on sorting through the massive number of files that all of you have contributed, including images and videos, and finding the best ones for our current pages. Those that might serve a purpose on future pages will be saved, while those that no longer serve a purpose (EG ones that have been replaced with higher quality images, etc.) will be deleted.
It is my hope that clearing out some of the clutter will help to unearth files that might have been lost over the years, and that will improve our wiki in the process. Feel free to pit…
An Update on my Status
Greetings fellow soldiers!
As I'm sure those of you that have been on recently have noticed, I've been somewhat absent as of late as far as edits go. The reason for this is that, a couple months ago, my hard drive finally gave up the ghost and died, meaning I lost all of the media and documents I intended to add to the wiki.
Combined with college work, with the end of term coming up, I have been unable to take the time to recapture or re-extract those files. Sorry.
However, I am still around. I check on the wiki at least once a week, so if you have any comments, questions, or issues, or maybe just want to chat, feel free to drop me a message. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks, and lets continue to make this a better wiki for all fa…
Happy New Years
Well, another year come and gone, and I hope everyone is having a happy New Years.
I'd like to take this chance to introduce myself as well. Back in September, I took ownership of the wiki due to the absence of the other admins. Though I'm dividing my time between the wiki and college life, I try to check in at least once a week. Feel free to hit me up with any questions or concerns you might have.
Thank you all for your help in making the Spec Ops wiki better in all forms, and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish in the new year.
Have fun this New Years, stay safe, and I'll see you all in 2018.
Sequel Discussion
Alright, it's been a long while since I've surfaced on the wiki. I still pop in every once in a while to check on things, and considering I've been thinking about new games to get recently, I was wondering how my friends over here on the wiki would receive a sequel?
I think it is definitely time for a sequel. With Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag announced so soon after the initial release of Assassin's Creed III, I don't see any reason why the developers wouldn't want to see another game from the reboot. I still love Spec Ops: The Line as a military game and for its emotional output. With the original line of games being so...typically military oriented, to use careful word choice, I really don't mind what The Line had to offer, namely the p…
Update and Alert from Wikia
Greetings! Back in March, we asked you, the admins of some of Wikia's largest wikis, to fill out a survey so we could get to know you better. Thank you to everyone who answered the call and filled out the survey.
One of the questions in the survey was related to learning what you want to learn from us or what is important to you regarding communication from Wikia. Something this group strongly supported was receiving a regular and detailed email from Wikia tailor-made to help inform you about events or site changes that directly impact your wikis. One specific request was to share information on new features, so we'd like to spend this May mailing to focus on recent and upcoming features.

I'm back and Vandalism Alert
Well, it's been a long time going without, but I finally have a new computer and I'm back where I belong! It looks like the wiki has at least had some activity while I was gone, which is good. But now that I'm back, I have something very, very important to say.
I've noticed vandalism on this wiki before, and I've seen it placed very sneakily, too. Let me just tell everyone that any and all vandalism on this wiki will be found, deleted and will be responded to with an immediate ban, no less. No second chances, no warnings. Do not seek to circumvent this ban. Do not continue to vandalise. Find more important things to do with your time, like buying food. Or finding a job. Go someplace else with that.
Now seeking fellow administrators and mods. Wor…
Lugo's hat and fan film
Hey guys, first I wanted to ask if anyone knew where to get Lugo's hat. Second I wanted to ask if anyone had any reccomendations for gear used in a spec ops the line fan film I'm making. I was thinking about having it set in Kabul . . . maybe Dubai.
A Spec Ops Fan Fic wiki
I was thinking about making one to hopefully get more people to get involved with this wiki. So what do you guys think should I try it or not?
Rules of Engagement (Making Wiki Policy)
I've been trying to recently to make the wiki look better, standardizing the pages, making things just look more professional and what-not. However i've realized that some of my ideas of what pages should look like don't quite match what some other think. To that end I decided we need to write a Style and Formatting policy on how pages should be written to make a guideline as to what would considered a good edit when it becomes disagreed upon.
The best way I can think of to create a community wide discussion on the subject is a simple blog. Propose what you believe would be good policy on writing pages and the community will discuss it and either agree or disagree with it. I'll add any ideas people have to the Proposed Policy section below t…
Time To Play Event
http://community.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog%3ANblonkenfeld%2FTime_To_Play_Across_Wikia
Hey everyone! How would you guys feel about joining the Time To Play event? It sounds really cool and would help get our wiki some decent buzz. I would especially like to talk to Zelron, Aug, and Justin. Tell me what you guys think!

The Rest of the Walkthrough
Alright, I've been taking a loooooooooong siesta from writing that walkthrough. I PROMISE I'll get back to it soon, cross my heart. I haven't been on wikia too much lately. It's hard to balance my writing life with my wiki writing life. So, I'll try to get to it next weekend. Who knows, if I get a lot done and have nothing left to do, I might do it THIS weekend--don't count on it though. Hope you are all doing well, I'll be back on wikia soon!
Cut stuff from Spec Ops: The Line
Ever since mid-2009, when I read about Spec Ops: The Line in a games magazine, I was interested in it. Eventually, when the final game did come out, I noticed a lot of differences from the early trailers.
First off, probably the most significant change, is the change in the character's appearances.
Double Checking
I was just looking over some things when I started to notice a problem. Aside from the occasional vandalism, which in itself is hard enough to reverse, we're getting some innacurate categories. And by that i mean, first and foremost, categories are hard to change. Only an administrator or higher can delete or rename a category, which means that when we get vandalism, such as this: http://specops.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Levigray@live.co.uk, we cannot do anything about it. When I tried to add that particular category to a deletions list, the Spam Blocker decided to kick in. You sure picked a fine time, buddy! But what I'm saying is, that when it comes to categories being any less than 100% accurate or legitimate, our admin needs to be notified imme…
Cutscene fade color question
Some spoilers may follow, just so you know.
Many cutscenes either fade to black or white, to subtlety let us know if what we are seeing is real or not. After going back and reviewing all the cut scenes (if you planing on doing it yourself then do what I did and steal a page from "A Scanner Darkly" and play each chapter in reverse order, start at the epilode and work your way back to to Chapter one, less likely to get in a groove and forget one) I noticed something. Chapters 2 through 6 do not use the white fade at all, but Chapter 1 has several.
The first cutscene after gaining control of Walker ends in white, the mayday call from the 33rd also has multiple white fades, and the outro cutscene for chapter 1 opens white but ends black. So wha…
In Spec Ops, why is it different from Call of Duty Modern Warfare?
I was wondering why Spec Ops is quite different from MW? Spec Ops show some similarities from MW: the weapons, the soldiers' appearances, the vehicles, etc. except for the gameplay, the terrain and third person shooter game engine, etc.
Leave a comment on you opinions about this.
Thank you.
Chat With Me!
Alright, so while this wiki is "new" it's not THAT new. While this may seem like a childish blog to post, we do really need some traffic here on chat. And if we have traffic on the wiki, we'll have traffic on chat, and vice versa.
The key issue for today, however, is that we really can't communicate fast enough on this wiki with normal messages, as our schedules aren't identical. If we are on chat regularly, then we can get through important stuff that needs to be handled much faster. Thoughts can also be shared in more detail.
Not to mention.
Spec Ops: The Line is a kickass game. Don't you guys wanna talk about it?
Related video module coming soon
Hi,
Over the past couple of months we have been developing and testing a related videos module on some wikis like Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Halo. During these tests we have been tracking the number of video plays as well as collecting community feedback. We are now ready to expand the rollout to the rest of the site, and we are starting with wikis that there are the most videos for - which includes your wiki!
The videos we have are fully licensed from video partners we have developed relationships with. They include videos such as trailers, famous movie/TV clips, walkthroughs and behind the scenes interviews. We currently have video content from Screenplay and are working to create partnerships with other vendors, including Hulu, soon. …
Can someone help me with how Walker is dead?
I saw the interview but its still confusing because both Walker and Adams were in the helo but they die sepreatly from each other when Walker was reliving Dubai. And how did he relive the epilouge if he was already dead before that could even happen? Cuz all that I can think of is that hes being judged and if he surrender to falcon one he goes to heaven and if he fights he goes to hell. So anyone know the real answer cuz im real confused?
What do you hope is added in The Line in a future DLC?
For me I hope that these are added in a new DLC:
- M16A4
- Mk 14
- M60E4
- AR-15
- M120 Mortar in MP along with the Mortarmen calss(The only class that can use it)
- M24
- A mode similar to Convoy in SOCOM
- And some new maps thats 33rd v. Refugees
What do you think of my list. And whats do you hope appears?
Basics, Favorites, Discussion, etc.
Okay, here we go, I figured I might as well get this out of the way early on. First up, I wanna know your favorite character, aspects of the game, what you thought of the missions, etc, etc. I'll give you some info on my favorites as well as some things I'm intrigued by.
- 1 Character of John Lugo
- 2 Character of Martin Walker (Hallucinations)
- 3 Sandstorms
- 4 Overall Opinion
First, Lugo is my favorite character, shortly followed by Martin Walker himself. He's the comic relief of the film that has that compassionate backup to it. I was really upset by his death. What I want to do right here, is offer a little comparison. If any of you are fans of the Alien series (you know, Ripley, Sigourney Weaver, all that?) then you might remember Alien Resurrection,…
How do you think co-op will be?
With Spec Ops The Line getting a Co-Op campaign in future DLC what do you think it will be like? I think it will either follow the story of 4 33rd Soldiers so we can have a better view of why there doing the things they did or it will be 2 players with one playing as Konrad and the other as Walker showing what happend in Kabul. So what do you think?
The New Admin
Hey guys,
I'm the founder of the wiki. I created this wiki years ago and I've not really done much to it unfortunately.
So for that matter, please welcome UK13, or "MyOpsAreBlackerThenYours" as the new administrator :)
Thanks guys!
Charlie
What do you think of The Line so far?
So what do you think of it? In my opinion its a great game but theres the things that bother me:
- MSG-90 is way to weak
- They have the same voice actor for each faction
- Host Migration
- And voice acting for the announcer could be a bit better
Nolan North on Spec Ops: The Line.
xbox360achivements.org sat down Nolan North the voice actor of Martin Walker about his experience with spec ops the line. To sum it up he said this about these topics:
Who is Martin Walker? Hes a great soldier, but he still is human. He also said The Line will be "one of the most psychologically mind-bending games" hes ever been involved with
Was Walker diffrent from what you ussauly do? Yes,I think what makes it different is that rather than the player walking in his shoes, you’re walking in his mind. You feel for the character. The game hits at an emotional level that very few shooters will reach.
How dificult is it to switch from "killer" to "peacemaker"? You know, bi-polar disorder would probably help. It’s not as drastic as “Killer"or “P…

Spec Ops: The Line Stands Apart from Call of Duty
Call of Duty is the sales king of military shooters. As such, there’s a natural tendency to want to copy its formula. Spec Ops: The Line does things its own way, stepping out of Call of Duty’s shadow in many ways.
Recently, I played a few hours of Spec Ops’ single-player missions and have seen about a third of what the campaign has to offer. It’s a refreshing change from most military shooters. Here are five things that set Spec Ops: The Line apart from Call of Duty.
- 1 Location, location, location
- 2 One hero, no confusion
- 3 Sand is a weapon
- 4 Moral ambiguity
- 5 It’s not an action movie
Most shooters are globetrotting adventures with an expected mix of urban and wilderness settings. Spec Ops: The Line stays focused in one area. You start in Dubai and yo…
Site Makeover
In order to help prepare this Wiki for the upcoming release of Spec Ops: The Line, the Wikia Content Team has decided to give this wiki a new makeover. We also have decided to implement blogs in order to help bring you news and updates about this series as it gets closer and closer to release. Please help us make this Wiki as fun and exciting for you guys as we possibly can.
Thanks.
