The FAMAS is an assault rifle that appears in Spec Ops: The Line.

In the single-player campaign, it comes with the ability to toggle between automatic and burst fire. It also has a scope, which is ideal for picking off targets at a longer range. It is somewhat weaker than the M4A1, but far more accurate.

The FAMAS is very rarely seen in the campaign, first found in Chapter 9, and then re appearing in Chapter 13 and 14. It is found on the sand in chapter 9, alongside a grenade box in chapter 13, and it is wielded by one Zulu Squad soldier in chapter 14. Ammunition for this weapon can only be obtained from ammo boxes and executions.

If the player does Chapter Select and selects Chapter 10, Walker will be equipped with this weapon as well as an UMP 45.

In multiplayer, the FAMAS is unlocked at Level 37, and retains its scope from the campaign but only fires in fully automatic mode. It has a high rate of fire, and is the only assault rifle in multiplayer to have a scope, making it useful for long-range engagements. However, it does not have any crosshairs, making close quarters engagements difficult.
